Cem Saral has announced the launch of a key initiative, the Cockett Foundation. He said, “As a truly global and diverse Group, we are very much aware of the importance of corporate social responsibility and the impact we as a team can have on sustainable development by assisting with economic, social and environmental initiatives to all stakeholders. With this in mind, we are proud and honoured to establish the Cockett Foundation and the exciting initiatives, it will support. We have a great brand, a very strong team and with its positive, inclusive, reflective and collaborative approach, we will make a difference.”
The Cockett Foundation has been launched to add value, make a difference, have impact, create cohesion in the arena of improving education and the environment through fundraising, sponsorship and team building activities supported by Cockett Group, its team members and shareholders.
“We fully understand the importance of education as we create, invest and further develop our workers and thought leaders within the Group. Furthermore, we are all very aware of the environmental issues facing the oil and shipping industries today and tomorrow. With this in mind it seems appropriate to support and get involved in sustainable education and environmental initiatives, projects and causes where we can contribute, add value, have impact and make a difference,” he adds.
Over the next few months, information on forthcoming events and activities and how to get involved with the Foundation will be disseminated to encourage growth in the team, increase presence in the local, regional and global communities as well as work closely with select partners and stakeholders.
Because the Foundation will be facilitated by a committee; potential committee members were requested to come forward by 24 October 2016, to be considered to represent the Group from all regions – Europe, Middle East & Africa, Asia and America. These individuals will be instrumental in identifying and arranging the foundation’s activities collectively across the Group and fulfilling the role of Ambassadors for Cockett Foundation.
