Vishal Deeplaul has been appointed as CEO, Grindrod Terminals with effect from 1 October 2017.
Vishal joins us from South32, and will lead the Terminals businesses. He has over 23-years’ experience in the mining Industry and in more recent years, commercial experience of supply chain management of bulk commodities through BHP Billiton and South32 Marketing and Integrated Operations' teams.
Vishal’s experience includes exposure to various commodities, sourcing new technologies and managing their deployment in the field. His career has been underpinned by increasing exposure to new markets, marketing, logistics and supply chain management, client development, business strategy, commercial contracts and application of financially sound strategic imperatives.
Through his vast experience in the industry and his influence on various forums, Vishal has been closely involved in shaping the coal industry in South Africa.
Vishal will be based at Grindrod Towers in Johannesburg.
Vishal is married to Ashika, is father of 2 avid and passionate cricketer sons, Yadav and Savar, and enjoys travel and cycling.
