Francois Jansen Van Rensburg has been appointed as Head of Business Development – Freight Services with effect from 1 October 2017.
Francois joins us from Barloworld Logistics. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, joined the Barloworld Group in 1996 as Financial Manager of PPC's Transport Division. He was promoted to Finance Director of Barloworld Logistics in 2001, subsequent to the merger of PPC Transport and Barloworld Logistics. He assumed this role until 2006 when he was appointed as Commercial Director of Barloworld Logistics Africa. He has since, assumed senior roles in many aspects of the business including procurement, legal, risk management, merger & acquisitions, sales, business strategy and business development in his various roles: Commercial Director: Middle East & Asia (based in Dubai); Divisional Director - Dedicated Transport Services; Executive – Business Enablement for Barloworld Transport; Head of Sales- Barloworld Logistics Africa and Managing Executive for Integrated Customer Solutions.
Francois will be bringing a wealth of commercial experience to the team. He will be based at Grindrod Towers in Johannesburg.
Francois is married to Karin and has 2 children, Vivienne 17 and Francois (jnr.) 14. Francois loves the great outdoors and frequently travels to remote areas in Africa (where there is no cell phone reception).
