Farewell and happy retirement years

Mahomed Kajee – 30 years

Mahomed Kajee retired in May as Director of Ships Agency. He joined Mitchell Cotts as Traffic Manager in 1987 and, having later worked at King & Sons, he spent his entire career at Grindrod in the ships agency and liner freight side of the business.

Five years ago, after the creation of Sturrock Grindrod Maritime, his working world expanded well beyond that of a liner agency with limited geographic reach. Now he took on responsibilities in a much bigger Mozambican operation, as well as liner entities in Namibia.

Mahomed was always totally professional and was regarded as a gentleman who had enormous experience to share, especially on the Executive Committee.

Mahomed also held key posts as the then ASABOSA, the Association of Ships Agents and Brokers of Southern Africa, and at his beloved D’Alberton Callies Football Club.

And now Mahomed has time to spend with Shireen, his wife of 35 years, their three daughters, and his two granddaughters.
