The China Homelife and Machinex Expo took place recently at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. At least 300 Chinese exhibitors from various industries participated, including: construction, building materials, machinery, textiles, appliances, tools & equipment and electronics & household products.
The Röhlig-Grindrod (R-G) sales team manned a stand at each of these exhibitions during the three days. These exhibitions were attended by thousands of visitors wanting to meet Chinese suppliers and a freight forwarding company better able to assist with their logistics requirements. The expo was widely publicised by online, radio and editorial advertisements which attracted wide groups of daily visitors, including delegations from Namibia and Angola.

Sales representatives, as well as our Customs Affairs Manager Stuart Millar and National Seafreight Product Development Manager Peter van de Biezen, delivered daily presentations to prospective clients on the basics of imports, import duties & taxes and how to select the right logistics partner, hence promoting our business and securing new sales leads for this trade lane.
A cocktail function was arranged by the event organisers on the first evening of the expo which provided networking opportunities for our clients and new prospective clients. Overall, it proved a very successful endeavour for R-G as the only ‘logistics freight forwarder’ represented at the event.
