Grindrod Bank title sponsor for Berg & Bush 2016

Grindrod Bank was the proud title sponsor of the 2016 Berg & Bush and accepted an invitation to become more involved in this year’s event. Grindrod Bank is passionate about mountain biking and encourages people of all ages to lead an active lifestyle.

The three-day race, started at the top of the Drakensberg escarpment near Harrismith in the bush. With farm-style hospitality and an area rich in history, not to mention incredible riding, it really is a proper adventure on a bike! The final event and ‘original’ event held over two days, is more sociable and relaxed but just as challenging.

Riders then camp along the shady banks of the Tugela River at the famous Em’Seni Camp ready to tackle the next two days of spectacular riding

the men’s Grindrod Bank Berg & Bush Descent Race and Candice Neethling and Vera Adrian, the overall winners in the women’s Grindrod Bank Berg & Bush Descent Race.

From humble beginnings in 2004, the Berg & Bush can now rightly claim to be one of the cycling community’s most anticipated events and showcases some of the most spectacular mountain bike trails in the country, something that participants this year can attest to.
