Grindrod Carrier Logistics (GCL) Automotive reported that Honda Southern Africa has signed a two-year agreement with an option to extend for a further year for the transportation, storage and value added activities for their new motor cars. The agreement comes on the back of over 12 consecutive months of 100% on-time delivery performance.
Just recently, the division was awarded a contract by Mercedes Benz of South Africa to provide transportation and storage services for the Agility Programme. This additional business comes on the back of the recent award to GCL for the transportation of new Mercedes Benz vehicles in South Africa.
GCL was also contracted by the Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa to provide 500 slots per month from Silverton in Gauteng to the Durban Car Terminal.
This award complements GCL’s logistics model, and is a huge vote of confidence in GCL’s ability to meet tight deadlines and provide a high quality service.
