Committed to uplifting local communities

A team from Grindrod recently visited two rural schools in the Erongo region of Namibia, Da Palm Secondary School, and Goaob Dr. Justus Garoeb Secondary School, to participate in a Handover Ceremony. These ceremonies marked a significant milestone in our partnership with the Ministry of Education and highlighted our commitment to enriching the lives of students and teachers in the areas we serve.

During these events, each school received a generous donation of essential technology resources, including laptops, projectors, printers, boxes of paper, and projector screens. This collaboration aims to enhance the learning environment, providing students and educators with modern tools to support their academic growth.

The ceremonies were attended by esteemed community leaders, including Ms. Goagoses, Inspector of Education for the Walvis Bay Circuit, and Chiefs J Mujahere and J Seibeb of the Ovaherero and Tsoaxudama Traditional Authorities, respectively. School principals, Ms. E. Jeomba and Dr. Ausbert Siboli were present to accept the valuable resources on behalf of their students.

As Johny Smith, CEO of Grindrod's Rail division, remarked, "These resources will significantly enhance the learning environment and open up new opportunities for both students and teachers. Grindrod supports initiatives that empower education and improve the next generation's learning experience."

The day's joy was palpable as students celebrated the occasion with music and dancing, expressing their heartfelt gratitude for the contributions made. This donation is not just about technology; it is about creating a brighter future for the young minds of our communities.

Grindrod continues to play an active role in community development initiatives, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the areas we operate. Together, we are building a foundation for a better tomorrow!
