Enriching lives of local communities

Grindrod recently inaugurated a learning centre for children in the Sibacusse community in the Marracuene district of Maputo.

This initiative, led by the 85 members of the Sibacusse Women's Association, aims to provide educational and training opportunities, health consultations, and community engagement events and meetings. It is anticipated to benefit approximately 3 500 to 4 000 people.

Ismênia Ferreira, HR Manager at Grindrod, expressed, "We believe that by initiating this programme, we are truly making a difference in the community and neighbouring areas. The high turnout of 180 children, compared to the expected 50, underscores the necessity for a welcoming, healthy, and secure place for our children. We are committed to supporting and encouraging these children who represent our future."

With this action, Grindrod is reinforcing its dedication to making a positive impact on Africa's trade with the world and enriching the lives of the communities in which it operates.
