With the proximity of 5km to the Port of Durban, Grindrod’s new Intermodal facility, situated at 296 Magwaza Maphalala Street, previously known as Gale Street in Durban is perfectly positioned for the staging of full reefer containers packed ahead of vessel stacks.
At 12 000 m² and with 160 reefer plugs the site can accommodate close to 2000 TEUs.
Grindrod’s investment in this new intermodal facility creates further efficiencies in the route to market providing a link for transporters stacking containers for export.
