During the months of October and November, Pieter Lochner, CEO Grindrod Integrated Logistics (GIL) and Xolani Mbambo, CFO Grindrod Limited visited the various Grindrod Intermodal and Carrier Logistics facilities. The roadshow included floors four and nine Grindrod House, New Pier, Bluff Road, Denver, Alrode, Port Elizabeth, Montague Gardens, Walvis Bay, Gaborone and Nacala facilities.
“Engaging with staff, sharing information and providing a platform for feedback, is vital in nurturing a culture of inclusiveness,” said Pieter. Staff asked questions and shared their concerns and we were given the opportunity to address these concerns, provide feedback and share the vision of the business”, continued Pieter.
The roadshow presentation covered the following:
- Update on financials;
- Project progress;
- New appointments and staff movements;
- System and process updates;
- Business challenges;
- Commercial feedback;
- Group news relating to new leadership and Grindrod Freight Services leadership;
- Grindrod Intermodal’s future (road transportation will remain with GIL and the RSA warehousing and depots operations will be included in the container logistics and terminals operations managed by OACL).
Sharing information highlights the necessity and urgency for change, it empowers staff to focus on customer solutions, implement actions to overcome challenges and be part of the transformational journey. The theme of the roadshow was: “Setting the business up for success”.
