SGM at the forefront of developing training for the industry

Rob Gardner and Catherine Moodie are currently working with the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) to put together the education and training requirements for a South African-designed ships agency training course.  They have committed two days a month in Durban to working on the vital aspects that a trainee ships agent should know before entering the industry. The goal is to have the course standards set by September 2018. This will enable other training institutes to have their respective courses accredited by TETA if they meet the requirements set out in the course material.
Sturrock Grindrod Maritime is the only ships agency company attending the TETA work groups on a regular basis and is proud to be at the forefront of this initiative on behalf of the industry.
