Simulators inaugurated at MPDC's training centre

The Port of Maputo has invested in five brand new simulators for all types of machine operators, including mobile and fixed cranes, forklifts, and tractors.  The simulators were inaugurated by the Minister of Transports and Communications, Carlos Mesquita, and are part of a complete training facility that also includes an artificial training hatch, an obstacle field for manoeuvre training and facilities for theory classes.

"We urge all stakeholders in the port sector to join in this MPDC initiative, forming the necessary synergies, in order to avoid duplication of effort in the area of port training ", said Mesquita.

The simulators will allow an increase in productivity as well as reduce or eliminate incidents. The centre currently serves MPDC and its subs-concessions but has offered to train port operators from other ports in Mozambique.
