Hard work pays off

Just before the national lockdown, Rogers Reddy, Group Head of Taxation, had the privilege of catching up with twin sisters Nomonde and Nomusa Zungu. These bright young ladies recently graduated with BTech: Taxation from Durban University of Technology (DUT).

Their association with Grindrod started 4-years ago in 2016. The twins attended Somtukwane Secondary School situated near Umlazi and had both passed their matric exams with a bachelor's degree pass and two distinctions. Unfortunately, they could not afford to further their studies so applied to Grindrod for a bursary. Their matric results reflected their work ethic and determination to succeed and the twins were awarded bursaries by Grindrod to study a 3-year National Diploma in Technology through DUT. The bursaries were administered by the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation.

After completing the diploma, they continued to study and graduated in 2019 with BTech: Taxation.

The twins are now looking for an internship position in the financial sector and are hoping to pursue a profession in accounting or taxation.

We congratulate the twins for their final excellent academic records and hard work over the years.
