At a land-based logistics service providers executive conference held at the new SASOL head office on 29 November, Grindrod Fuelogic was the proud recipient of one of three awards made to suppliers for “Outstanding Service and Support”. David Roberts represented Fuelogic at the conference and received the award on behalf of the division. More than 40 companies were represented at the conference including large corporates operating in the logistics space.
SASOL’s road transport suppliers travel in excess of 100 million kilometres per year, with Fuelogic doing approximately 3 million kilometres in total.
Fuelogic provides transportation for liquid petroleum products on behalf of SASOL in Mossel Bay, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Sasolburg and Witbank.
The credit for receiving this prestigious award must go to all members of staff involved in the execution of our service delivery. The drivers, Fuelogic management, depot operations, HSSE department, training department, technical department, administration, and support services all deserve a special mention. As is the trend, service delivery is a measured from “cradle to grave” and includes all aspects of service delivery, not only operational execution. Our efforts in B-BBEE, administration and compliance are a few of the areas outside of operations that are considered when calculating the overall performance of a supplier.
On behalf of Pieter Lochner, the CEO of Grindrod Integrated Logistics (GIL), and all GIL management, we extend our sincere appreciation to all our colleagues in both GIL and Grindrod Shared Services who played a pivotal role in our achieving this award.
SASOL will be publishing a number of very large RFQs over the next year in the logistics space, and Grindrod is well positioned to participate in these opportunities.
