The intention of the roadshow was to share with staff the vision, mission and strategy of the business as well as answer any questions on the offshore
listing and restructure of GFS.

Bongiwe highlighted the importance of focusing on customer driven integrated solutions, operational excellence, people development, strategic partnerships and balanced exposure.

Some comments received:
"OACL employees attended a presentation by Bongiwe Ntuli on 13 September 2017 with Xolani Mbambo (CFO) in attendance.Employees appreciated the informative presentation which explained the restructuring of the Grindrod Group and highlighted the new GFS structure and vision,” said Mahmood Simjee, CEO Ocean Africa Container Lines.

“The roadshow was received with great enthusiasm and emotion by staff members, as many had experienced the difficult market conditions. It was also very much appreciated that the GFS CEO took the time to come and address individuals and deliver a presentation giving everybody insight into future plans. The staff are looking forward to the next roadshow in 2018. The roadshow seemed to settle a lot of the uncertainty being experienced by staff,” said Pieter
Venter, Chief Operating Officer, Grindrod Terminals.

“The roadshows created an opportunity for the majority of the staff to meet and engage with the CEO of GFS. Bongiwe shared with the GIL team the future of Grindrod and what the brand means. I believe it was a huge success. An environment was created where questions were asked and comments made,” said Pieter Lochner, Chief Executive Officer, Grindrod Integrated Logistics.

“The visit was well received by all especially those from shop floor level who had the opportunity to meet Bongiwe in person and also ask her questions directly,” said Christo Coetzer, Executive Grindrod Terminals Richards Bay.
