New Appointment

Caroline has joined the Cockett Group with 20 years global experience in downstream oil industry with a speciality in lubricant trading, an extensive network of vendors and customers worldwide.

Caroline will be based in Singapore and is tasked to develop and manage the lubricant business globally. In symmetry to the Cockett Group’s global and multi- cultural organisation, Caroline speaks fluent French, Spanish, Portuguese and has a good understanding of the Russian language, which will in itself provide a wider scope for her to develop lubricants. Cockett Group is delighted to have her join the team and believe she is well placed to create and develop a reliable global and multimodal lubricant supply chain for the organisation.

Our regional initiative started late 2015, led by the Istanbul branch efforts for a dedicated focus on marketing of marine lubricants. This move provided us with clear feedback that we have room for sustainable growth and that we have a capacity to expand this activity on a global basis. In addition to marine applications, our existing global coverage and the expertise built within our teams, Cockett Group are equally confident that there will be further synergies to be explored on land based lubricants marketing as well.

Cem Saral, Group Chief Executive Officer for Cockett Group commented, “At Cockett Group we are continually searching for new talent to aid our business growth. The expanded reselling division with a dedicated focus on lubricants and Caroline joining our team, enables our products and services to develop further. This is an exciting time for the Group.”

Caroline Huot, Global Head – Lubricants said, “It is a very exciting time for me. The Cockett Group provides global coverage, marine lubricant logistics, as well as shipping, to meet customer expectations. In addition, the strength of the Group on the shipping market for fuels and the service values attached to the brand are bringing to this new initiative both spirit, commitment and synergies thus promising strong expansion and bringing real benefits to ship owners and ship managers around the globe. In a period when the shipping industry is still struggling and the products and services offered by some traditional networks are being somewhat downsized, I strongly believe that the market will support Cockett Group’s expansion in the Lubricants field”.

Cockett Group is one of the world’s leading providers of marine and petroleum products and services, owned by Vitol Group (50%) and Grindrod Limited (50%). Headquartered in Dubai-UAE, the Group operates from 16 offices globally spread over 5 continents with annual trading volumes in excess on 7 million metric tons per annum.
