The Grindrod team in Mozambique celebrated the grand opening of the Chiure halfway station situated between the Balama mine and Nacala. Our trucks transport graphite from the mine to our Intermodal facility in Nacala, a distance of almost 500km. This facility will form an integral part of our risk management protocols on this route and fully endorses our management philosophy of providing a safe working environment to our employees. The facilities will allow the opportunity for our drivers to rest and perform the necessary vehicles safety checks before continuing on their journey. The site also boasts a reduced environmental footprint with a solar enabled water pump.
