Maputo Katembe bridge opens

The Maputo Katembe bridge in Mozambique, the longest suspension bridge in Africa spanning three kilometres, officially opened on 10 November. The bridge connects Maputo on the northern bank with Katembe on the southern bank. The business impact of this major accomplishment will be noted once Kosi Bay border is upgraded to full commercial status.  Sturrock Grindrod Maritime have the infrastructure and staff to facilitate the clearing of cargo in both Maputo and KwaZulu Natal.

The travel time between Maputo to Kosi Bay, KwaZulu-Natal’s east coast border post, will be drastically reduced from six hours to 90 minutes.
