Last year saw major focus on two areas: customers, and integration across all our freight service businesses. In December 2016 we thus merged the businesses of Terminals, Rail, Carrier and Intermodal into a revitalised Freight Services business. The executive team is Bongiwe Ntuli (Chief Executive Officer), Xolani Mbambo (Chief Financial Officer) and Andre Roets (Chief Operating Officer). The new Commercial Executive is Kees Anton Van Welie.
April this year saw the merger of Grindrod Carrier Logistics and Grindrod Intermodal staff structures. Pieter Lochner, previously CEO of Grindrod Carrier Logistics, was appointed CEO of the newly merged businesses, and Stuart Bromley as Chief Financial Officer.
In May it was announced that the newly merged Intermodal and Carrier Logistics division would trade as Grindrod Integrated Logistics, a division of Grindrod South Africa (Pty) Ltd, headquartered at the 9th floor of Grindrod House in Durban.
