Island View Shipping hosted the 12th annual NSRI golf day in Richards Bay on 17 August 2017, boasting a full field of 154 players.
The very first NSRI benefit golf day took place in 2006, raising R35 000 towards the operating costs of the NSRI Station 19 in Richards Bay. Roelof Camminga, together with Ms Lamont from WWW365 Shipping, has worked tirelessly every year since then to make it bigger and better, and with the support of local businesses, the golf day has grown and become a regular and much anticipated occasion on the events calendar. Over the past 12 years, IVS has raised R1 270 747 in total for the NSRI. This year the net income raised was double that of last year and as is tradition, IVS matched the amount raised and handed over a cheque for R244 332.
