Grindrod Limited acquires shareholding in NWK Limited

The JSE listed, freight logistics company, Grindrod, has acquired a 20% shareholding in NWK. NWK is an operating company that trades in agricultural and agri-related products, resources and services. Its business interests include crop farming and the storage, trading and financing of grain and related products.

Grindrod, a member of the Remgro Group, specializes in the handling and transportation of bulk commodities by road, rail and sea and has invested in infrastructure along import / export corridors throughout sub-Saharan Africa. This network will assist NWK in expanding its footprint in the region. NWK already has business interests in Botswana, Zambia and the Netherlands.

Both companies have a history of more than a century and have evolved into respected, reputable, successful and focused businesses with a common goal of growing the agricultural commodities businesses in Africa.

Grindrod will become actively involved in the business management of NWK through its representation on the board.
